Get Involved
All women at HBS are encouraged to be active in the WSA.
Why to get involved:
- Help promote HBS as the business school for women
- Meet, socialize, and network with dynamic women
- Develop a mentoring relationship with an alumnae, second year, or conference speaker
- Figure out which firms are actively recruiting women
- Participate in great activities, including the conference, panels, and social outings
How to get involved: Students
- WSA Representative: each HBS section has an elected WSA Representative who works with the section’s women to plan events within and across sections, support women’s needs plus to inform men and women of all WSA-related events
- Panel Chair and other volunteer roles, WSA Conference: the annual WSA Conference is a great way for members to get involved by planning speaker panels, assisting with logistics, and supporting marketing efforts
- Serve on the executive board: many WSA executive board members have subcommittees with various levels of involvement available. For example, Academics has faculty lunch coordinators and Professional Development has corporate sponsor liaisons
- Connect with undergraduate women: HBS women work with the Harvard University Undergraduate Women in Business organization through mentoring, supporting initiatives and assisting their ongoing professional development programs
How to get involved: Companies
- Sponsorship and WSA Conference: contact Kate Thomas for details on sponsorship opportunities and Sarah Zalewski for ideas about participating in the Dynamic Women in Business Conference, January 24, 2009
- Speakers: speakers interested in sharing their business experience with club members are always welcome
