Social
The Women’s Student association plays an important role in contributing to the social fabric of Harvard Business School. Our goal is to cultivate and strengthen relationships amongst the women at HBS by creating a fun and collaborative environment. By organizing and planning social events and activities dispersed throughout the year which bring together women across sections and across years we believe we are accomplishing this goal.
In the future, we also hope to broaden this network of women and plan events that connect HBS alums with current students and to broaden it even further to connect HBS women with those in other business school across the nation. Furthermore, by planning a few events that include the entire student body at HBS, we hope to create and build a greater awareness of the importance and presence of the WSA on campus.
The events and activities for this year are well on their way. In the beginning of the year, we worked with the admissions office to plan a kick-off event for the new incoming class of RC women which consisted of a Boston Duck Tour followed by a happy hour event in Boston. . We are happy to report that the event was wildly successful with almost 100 new RCs participating and enjoying the event. In September, the new WSA representatives were elected for each of the RC sections and we are working them to plan events as they play an important leadership role in helping to build relationships amongst the women at HBS. Furthermore we are planning a big event for all women in early February which we hope will be a fun event for all (more detail to come!) and in the Spring we are planning a women’s golf outing. Through events such as these, we hope to create strong social bonds within the women’s community at HBS, bonds that will last a life time. The WSA believes building these bonds is a critical and necessary part of the HBS experience.
